Travel and Location Information

Conference Location. All conference events except the banquet will take place within the Music Building (including the newly built Billman Pavilion) and the Music Practice Building. Their addresses are 333 and 345 West Circle Drive (respectively) in East Lansing, MI. Nearby parking is restricted to MSU faculty and staff with the exception of a few metered spaces. There are three paid ramps located about a quarter mile northeast of the Music Building, across Grand River Avenue: one at Division St. and Albert St., one at Charles St. and Albert St., and one on Grove St. north of Albert St. We recommend leaving your car at the Kellogg Center if possible.

Kellogg Center. The conference’s room block and the evening banquet will take place at MSU’s Kellogg Center, which is located at 219 S. Harrison Rd. in East Lansing, MI. It has a large parking ramp. It is a 0.7-mile scenic walk between the Kellogg Center and the Music Building. There will also be a van service available for those who cannot travel on foot.

Getting to East Lansing. The Capital Region International Airport (LAN) in Lansing is the closest airport to Michigan State’s campus, located 10 miles away. If you will not be renting a car, taxis/Uber/Lyft/etc. are the easiest ways to get between the airport and the Kellogg Center. Another reasonable option 90 miles away is Detroit – Wayne County Metropolitan Airport (DTW), which is a major hub for Delta Airlines and connected to East Lansing via the Michigan Flyer http://www.michiganflyer.com, a comfortable and reasonably priced bus service. There are airports closer than DTW, such as Grand Rapids (GRR) and Flint (FNT), but transportation between them and Lansing is less convenient unless you plan to rent a car.
